Item includes a set of 4 Knobbed Cylinder Blocks and each block has 5 cylinder knobs of various heights and dimensions.

Block 1: The cylinders increase in diameter and height.
Block 2: The cylinders increase in diameter. The height remains the same.
Block 3: The cylinders increase in diameter and decrease in height.
Block 4: The cylinders decrease in height and diameter remains the same.

Most suitable for home teaching of preschool kids, from 1 to 6 years.

The selling item is a shorter version of the classic Montessori materials, intended for home teaching purpose. Compares to my description of 4 knobbed cylinders & 5 cylinder knobs for each block, the classic set has 4 knobbed cylinders & 10 cylinder knob.

Aim:
1. To help develop the child’s visual discrimination of size, volume, thickness and height. To develop eye and hand coordination and enhance fine motor skill.

2. Indirectly, to prepare the child for writing through the handling of the cylinders by their knobs.

3. Indirectly, to prepare the child for later work in Mathematics, through observation of the regular difference in the cylinders.
